Mechanical Engineer in the Automotive & Heavy Equipment
As a Mechanical Engineer at AWL, you will work on machines that truly make an impact. Within our business unit, you will develop smart, innovative solutions for the automotive and heavy equipment industries. These are not standard machines, but technically challenging solutions where you are involved from the initial concept phase through to final implementation.
Within our projects, you will be given a high level of responsibility. You will not only be responsible for the mechanical design, but also play a key role in coordinating technical matters with suppliers, colleagues and customers. You will support Project Managers, define specifications for critical components, and ensure that technical decisions are well-founded and thoroughly substantiated.
You are an experienced engineer who takes ownership, thinks ahead, and knows how to engage colleagues in technical decisions. Depending on your ambitions, there are plenty of opportunities for career advancement, such as moving into a Project Engineer role.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and refining machines and modules for complex client projects;
- Drafting technical specifications for long-lead items and critical components;
- Serving as the technical point of contact for suppliers and independently coordinating technical solutions;
- Supporting project managers with technical issues, risks, and planning;
- Coordinating technical work within projects and mentoring less experienced engineers;
- Evaluating, improving, and standardizing mechanical designs;
- Actively contributing to new concepts and innovative solutions for the heavy equipment market.
