What Will Be Your Role?
As a Mechanical Technician, you will assemble, test, and verify machine assemblies and sub-assemblies for highly engineered automation systems. You will work hands-on with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems, ensuring every machine meets our quality standards before reaching our customers. Collaboration is a major part of this role—you’ll stay in close communication with Project Coordinators, Engineers, and the Shop Floor Supervisor to keep projects moving efficiently and safely.
This position also includes field support, with opportunities to travel to customer sites for machine installation and service work.
What Do We Expect From You?
Core Responsibilities
- Assemble machine components, verify proper fitment, and ensure the use of correct hardware.
- Perform mechanical testing and operational verification of machines and assemblies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during assembly, installation, or testing.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with Project Coordinators on progress, issues, and timelines.
- Participate in daily build meetings, providing updates, time estimates, and prioritization input.
- Track changes, collaborate with engineers, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the build.
- Support field service work and machine installations at customer locations.
- Work efficiently, maintain a clean workspace, and follow all safety protocols.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Familiarity with rigging, machinery alignment, and safe movement of heavy equipment.
- Understanding of industrial equipment testing and verification processes.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling system installation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to anticipate and address issues proactively.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience with 3D modeling software is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English; conversational Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and schedules based on customer needs.
Manual & Workplace Skills
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a well-organized work area.
Travel Requirement
- Ability to travel 30–40% of the time for customer installations and service calls.
- Overtime availability when required.
